Dr. Dirk Weigelt, Chairman. After Dirk's education in Germany, his career spans over 14 years at the department for Medicinal Chemistry at AstraZeneca R&D Södertälje where he worked in several local and global roles. After co-founding and leading KeytoLead AB for 2 years, he headed the Special Laboratory Unit at the department for Clinical Pathology, Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, and subsequently Unilab's Clinical Chemistry Volume Lab. At present, he is director for Analysis at RISE - Research Institutes of Sweden. Dirk is a co-founder of Biotech Hanse. He served as treasurer from the start and was elected chairman in June of 2017.

Dr. Andreas Nolting, Treasurer. Andreas has more than 15 years’ experience in biomedical research from working appointments in the pharmaceutical industry and academia. With a background in Molecular Biology he has worked at AstraZeneca in Södertälje Sweden for nearly 6 years and is currently employed as scientist in the Division of Neurobiology at Linköping University. In 2015 he earned a master in “Innovation Management” from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. Andreas has become a member of Biotech-Hanse in 2015 and was appointed Treasurer in June 2017. Dr. Marijke Sachweh, Member. Marijke has over 10 years of experience in the life science sector. She performed cancer research as a PhD student and postdoc at the Karolinska Institute followed by positions up to senior level at the CMO Cobra Biologics and the medtech companies ImmunoIVD and Cepheid. Currently, she works with drug documentation (CMC) as QA Officer at Fresenius Kabi. Marijke became a member of the Biotech Hanse in 2017 and was project leader for the Biotech Hanse Forums in 2019 and 2023.

Dr. Suzanna Queckbörner, Secretary, defended her PhD in immunology and cell therapy at Karolinska Institute in 2020. After her studies, Suzanna worked at Novo Holdings in Copenhagen as a Venture Creation Fellow within biotech seed investments. Currently, she is Healthcare Equity Analyst with Handelsbanken Capital Markets in Stockholm. Find me on LinkedIn here!
Dr. Johan Schultz, Member. Following academic positions in Germany (FMP, Berlin and EMBL, Heidelberg), he has worked >20 years with drug discovery project management in both big Pharma (Pharmacia Corporation) and biotechs (Biovitrum, iNovacia and Kancera). He is currently Project Director at Kancera AB.

Dr. Marc Willuhn, Board Member, is a senior CMC consultant and has been supporting start-up companies in drug development projects since 2018. He is fractional head of CMC at Opterion Health, AnaCardio and Klaria. After a PhD in organic chemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research and a postdoc at the Faculte de Pharmacie in Paris, he developed API syntheses at Schering AG in Germany and Sigma Aldrich in the UK. At Baxter Healthcare, based in Belgium, Marc was responsible for the global process development team for sterile injectables, before moving to Sweden to lead the pharmaceutical development of parenteral nutrition products for Fresenius Kabi.

Dr. Lea van Husen, Member, has a background in molecular life science and defended her PhD in Neuroscience at Karolinska Institute in 2022. Currently, she is a patent consultant at HØIBERG in Stockholm and counsels within Life Science including molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry.

Dr. Gunnar Sandberg. Member. Gunnar finished his PhD at FU Berlin in biochemistry in 1994 followed by a Post Doc study at Karolinska Institute, CMM until 2000. He entered the Swedish EU R&D council as Head of Office in Brussels in 2000 and became chair of the IMI state representative group in 2009 . Gunnar has been working as Programme Director of the SWElife Initiative within Vinnova since 2014, and has been supporting Biotech Hanse from the very start. After retiring from Vinnova in 2023 he became an official member of Biotech Hanse. I am also on LinkedIn.
